Red Velvet Cardamom Truffles

Cacao powder is the perfect superfood ingredient to help add a chocolaty-flavour to a recipe, without the calories or sugar! Team with dōTERRA Essential oil, almonds, dates and coconut and you’re left with one tasty truffle.

  • 1 small Beetroot peeled and quartered (parboiled)
  • 12 medjool dates (pitted)
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of Desiccated Coconut
  • 1/2 cup Almonds
  • 5 Tbsp Cacao powder
  • 4 drops Cardamom – 10 drops Wild Orange dōTERRA Essential Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Pinch of Himalayan salt
  • 2- 3 Tbsp Maple syrup (or sweeter
  • Extra desiccated coconut (for rolling truffles in)


Place all ingredients into your food processor or Thermomix and pulse on a high speed until the mixture is smooth, well combined and sticking together, and there is a beautiful red velvety texture.

Use your hands to shape the mixture into balls. Coat the balls with desiccated coconut and place in the fridge to set.
