Elderberry Tonic

These potent & wonderful berries have been used for centuries for keeping humans healthy, they have so much goodness within them, and the bonus is they taste good as well.

Here is a simple to make recipe that stores well in the fridge for months, I recommend to have a tablespoon quite often as a preventative, or to use when boosting your immune system back to wellness.

Elderberry Tonic Recipe

🔺 1 Cup of dried elderberries

💦 3 cups of water

🍯 ¾ cup of raw honey

🍄 Squirt of Cordyceps medicinal mushroom extract (I like this particularly, but all medicinal mushrooms are huge adaptogens for all over health and wellbeing)

💧 dōTERRA Oils of Ginger, Frankincense, On Guard and Lemon (Approx. 2-3 drops each) www.mydoterra.com/shantistar if you dont have any yet.

Add the cup of berries only with the 3 cups of water and bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Mash with a potato masher and strain the mix.

Add honey, mushroom extract and oils to the berry juice and mix until dissolved, then store when cooled into an airtight glass jar and refrigerate.

This can also be added as a boost to juices, smoothies and yoghurt/fruit snacks.
